Sep 16 & Sep 23 & Sep 25 7:30-11:15 (TOTAL: 44.25 HOURS)

This week was largely focused on project work. With Angela Jones out of town, I spent most of my time in the basement organizing materials and figuring out the best way to streamline the process. I experimented with several methods to speed up the Pen-to-Print workflow (the AI/OCR system I’ve been using to convert the previous archivist’s handwritten notes into text files) but progress remains slow. It’s definitely a test of patience, though I’m learning a lot about both the technology and the practical challenges of digitizing archival material.

My Advanced Legal Research class continues to go well. This week we covered advanced connectors, which has already made my work in the UNT law library class much easier to manage. I’m finding the material engaging and starting to feel more confident with each session. On a lighter note, I got to help with the library’s weekly bagel gathering for students, which is one of their longest-running and most appreciated programs. It was fun to be part of something that brings the community together (and I won’t lie, snagging a bagel or two myself was a nice bonus). The sense of camaraderie between students and faculty continues to make the environment here feel incredibly welcoming.
